On 17 March Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by Peter Semnebi, the European Unions special representative on South Caucasus, Trend reports.
The head of state congratulated Semnebi n his new appointment and wished him successes. Aliyev underlined that Azerbaijans relationships with the European Union are successfully developing and Azerbaijan hopes in the consolidation of the relationships in the near future.
Recalling his visit to Brussels two years ago, as well as a visit
of the former chairman of the EU to Azerbaijan Aliyev noted that the mutual visits greatly contribute in the development of bilateral relationships. The president also underlined the EUs active role in the implementation of the New Neighborhood Policy, energy projects and the resolution of conflicts in the South Caucasus.
In his turn Semnebi noted that it comes his first visit to the region as a special representative. The EUs interests in the South Caucasus boosts and there is great hope for the development of bilateral relationships, Semnebi underlined.
