Changes to be injected to some laws on military and defense issues Azeri vice speaker

Some parts of the laws linked with military and defense issues do not meet the advanced requirements and necessary work is being carried out on them, Ziyafet Asgarov, the vice speaker of Azerbaijani parliament, also the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on security and defense issues, told journalists, Trend reports

Almost all laws linked with military and defense issues have been adopted. Some parts of the military laws adopted by 1995, when the first National Constitution has been adopted, do not meet the advanced requirements and now we are working on them. We could discuss them at the spring session of the parliament if this is complete. Otherwise, they will be put for the autumn session of the parliament, Asgarov underscored.

A department for military and administrative legislation and the permanent parliamentary commission on security and defense issues are working jointly on the bills. As to transition to professional army, Asgarov said that it was matter of time. Many conditions are required and it is too premature to speak about it today. Concerning the military doctrine on national security of Azerbaijan he said that as special commission has been established at the presidential decree. The appropriate documents will be discussed at the parliament as soon as they are ready, he underlined.
