Valdas Adamkus, the Lithuanian President, plans to pay his first official visit to Azerbaijan in April,Trend reports quoting Vitautas Naujus, the Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, who handed over his credentials to Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, the day before.
According to Naujus, the visit will open a new page in the history of the bilateral relations and serve to expansion of the cooperation between EU and the Caucasus countries.
The Ambassador also touched upon the rapidly growing economic power of Azerbaijan, which impels Lithuanian businessmen to more active work at the perspective market of the country.
The same time Naujus is the Lithuanian Ambassador to Turkey. His residence locates in Ankara, BNS reports.
