Azerbaijan should pass a bill On standardization of geographical names and send it to UN on standardization of geographical names of countries of the East Europe, the North and Central Asia. Garib Mammadov, the representative of the State Committee on Land and Cartography, informed journalists, Trend reports.
He noted that Armenians change the Azerbaijani historical names
benefiting the absence of such law. The State Committee has prepared the standards of geographical names. Simply it is necessary to adopt a law on this issue. Although we have submitted the bill to the parliament for 5 years, there has been no result yet, said Mammadov
Besides, Mammadov stressed that the branch of UN on standardization of geographical names of countries of the East Europe, the North and Central Asia was established by Russia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. 19 states are represented in the branch.
