The summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will more probably not discuss an issue on Azerbaijani delegations mandate, Trend reports citing Oktai Asadov, the chairman of the Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani parliament]. He was commenting on the results of visits to some European countries.
According to the Azerbaijani speaker, during the meeting PACE Preset Rene van Der Linden noted that the democratic conduct of the re-run parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan on 13 May 2006.
Asadov also informed the PACE President on the dissatisfactory work of the OSCE cp-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan Andreas Herkel and Andreas Gross. The co-rapporteurs has never stated a positive position on Azerbaijan. I hope the Council of Europes position on Azerbaijan will change, he underlined.
