The Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) (Classics) will participate in the municipal elections scheduled for October 6, 2006, Mirmahmud Miralioglu, the chairman of APFP, told Trend.
Miralioglu noted that yet APFP has not made an official decision on participation in municipal elections. However, the majority of party members agree to participate in elections. According Miralioglu, APFP is going, within its opportunities, to put forward its candidates
in many of municipalities.
Expressing his attitude towards the boycott of elections by other opposition parties, Miralioglu stressed that he was dissatisfied with their step. We dont support the tactics of boycott. Our party considers that the boycott of municipal election by opposition will not have any importance and effect. The boycott can be effective, if there is solidarity in opposition camp and everybody comes together and makes a single decision. However, to refuse the elections while the absence of solidarity is an unimportant decision, told Mirgasimoglu.
Besides, Mirgasimoglu pointed out that APFP holds fight to come to power, through the elections.
