Azeri president attends opening of Baku Seaport

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participated on 21 June in the opening of the Baku Seaport, Trend reports. The head of state viewed the building of the port and got familiar with the sate of the attached area.

The head of the Caspian Shipping Company (CSC), Aydin Bashirov, informed about work on renewal of the building of the Baku Seaport, noting that the building was founded in 1970s by former Azerbaijani Present Heydar Aliyev. However, over the

past period the seaport has not been renovated, though cracks appeared on the walls of the building after the tremors.

The new seaport is designed for 1,200 passengers and equipped with modern technique. To date a number of vessels and ferries arrive in Baku from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia, and two vessels function to Oil Rocks. The number of service personnel of the seaport comprises 120 people. Moreover, there is a conference hall functioning in the seaport for 400 people.

President Ilham Aliyev gave respective instructions on effective use of the Baku Sea Port.
