Outstanding Azeri film director Rasim Ojagov passed away

Today the outstanding Azeri film director Rasim Ojagov passed away in Baku.

Ojagov was born in town of Sheki in 1933. After leaving the high-school, entered and in 1956 graduated from operators faculty in All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, then returned to Baku and worked with Azerbaijanfim cinema studio. In 1967 graduated from producer faculty of State Theatric Institute.

Originally, Ojagov worked as a photography director in such movies as "Her Big Heart" (1958), "The True Friend" (1959), "I Will Dance" (1962), "In One Southern Town" (1969), "Main Interview" (1971) and so.

Starting 1974, he began making movies as a chief director. He made such famous feature movies as "The Interrogation" (1979), "The Birthday" (1977), "Before the Closed Door" (1981), "Seven Days After The Murder" (1990), "Tahmina" (1993), "The Room In Hotel" (1998) and many other.

In general, Ojagov made 13 full-length movies. His movies were marked with prizes at various international festivals. He is honored arts worker of Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, laureate of governmental premium of Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic.
