Ukraine will initiate the strengthening of a new basic agreement with the European Union, Trend Special Correspondent in Ukraine reports citing Ukrainian Prime Minister Victor Yanukovich in Kiev.
Yanukovich noted that today the governmental committee on political and defense issues has adopted a draft decree on the rehabilitation of a Department at the Justice Ministry, which would involve adapting the Ukrainian legal acts to European Union Standards.
With respect to the relationships with Ukraine, Yanukovich also noted that he is against Ukraines stretched hand.
The Prime Minister stressed that under the development of a new strengthened agreement, the Ukraine will, firstly, offer the establishment of a free economic zone between the Ukraine and the EU after Ukraines inclusion in the World Trade Organisation , which is very appealing for the Ukrainians who feel discriminated against by the EU.
The PM said that these issues will be discussed during the visit to Brussels, where he is to attend a meeting of the Ukraine-EU Council of Co-operation on 14 September.
