The visit of the Chairman of the Congress of World Azerbaijanis (CWA) Javad Derehti to Baku in September will go ahead, the Head of CWA Press Service Ali Nijat told Trend.
Derehti was expected to participate at the International Forum National Movement of South Azerbaijan held on September 12 in Baku initiated by the leader of Azerbaijan National Independence Party Etibar Mammadov.
Nijat stressed that within the visit to Baku, Derehti will familiarize himself with the preparation works for the 9th Congress of CWA scheduled for 9-11 December in Brussels. He
is expected to hold meetings with several senior officials of Azerbaijan and leaders of the political parties. Several meeting have already been confirmed. Derehtis visit was initially delayed as it was uncertain when he could meet with senior officials of Azerbaijan. This resulted in Derehti being unable to attend the Forum, Nijat stressed.
In addition, he mentioned that Derehtis visit to Azerbaijan will take place in September and Derehti would participate in the opening ceremony of CWA representations in several regions of Azerbaijan.
CWA was created in 1997 in Los Angeles by Azerbaijanis living in South Azerbaijan. The 2nd Congress of CWA was held in Washington under the flag of Azerbaijan. In 2005, an Assembly of CWA was founded based on changes made to the CWA Regulations.
