From 21 to 28 September, the Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov will make a visit to China, the head of the press-service of the Ministry Ragif Abbasov told Trend.
Abbasov noted that within the visit, the minister will hold a series of meetings. The visit aims at strengthening the bilateral co-operation on international level. Besides, the minister will get familiar with the preparation process of China for upcoming Olympic Games. Moreover, he will get acquainted with the construction of the Olympic city, the places for Azerbaijani sportsmen and the addresses for sport competitions, Abbasov stressed.
In addition, Abbasov said that during the visit, a Greco- Roman Wrestle championship will be held. With the participation of the minister, we will hold the presentation of a Azerbaijani disk that will be related with familiarization of Azerbaijani sport. It will be done to become host-country for the world Greco- Roman Wrestle championship scheduled for 2007, Abbasov emphasized, adding that a preliminary agreement has been reached on this issue. But officially it will be confirmed in Guanj-Jou (China) on September 23.
