The Vice President of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe)Parliamentary Assembly and Head of the Ukrainian Delegation in OSCE, Belarus will arrive in Azerbaijan in October, Bahar Muradova, Head of the Azerbaijani delegation in OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Vice Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament told Trend in an exclusive interview.
The Vice Speaker stressed that she sent letters to the representatives of the delegations of the OSCE PA member countries to invite them to Azerbaijan to familiarize themselves with the crimes committed by Armenians. We have already received responses from several countries. They are expected to visit Azerbaijan in Autumn. To this effect, the Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Head of the Ukrainian Delegation in OSCE, Belarus will arrive in Azerbaijan in October, Muradova stated.
She emphasized that relations needs to be strengthened with the countries having weak ties with Azerbaijan. In addition, Muradova touched upon the report from the President of OSCE PA, Reporter for Nagorno-Karabakh, Goran Lenmarker. She noted that in principle Lenmarker has no new reports. His first report contained several aspects dissatisfied with Azerbaijani side. Thereafter, he made a series of changes to the report. We hoped that these issues will be presented to the discussions and will be included in the report, but due to the fact that we and the Armenian delegation have different approaches to these changes, no compromise has been made, she stressed.
In addition, Muradova stressed that despite the fact that Lenmarker is the Chairman of the OSCE PA, he, as a reporter, continues working on these issues. We look forward to discussing the document, which includes other issues, with OSCE, she pointed out. According to Muradova, she does not consider it necessary for Lenmarker to visit the region as he is very familiar with the problems and often travels in the region.
Furthermore, the Vice Speaker ruled out that together with Lenmarker, the commission, which should implement the resolutions of the UNO and hold the monitoring of the crimes committed by Armenians, has to make a visit to Azerbaijan.
The winter session of OSCE PA will be held in January 2007 in Vienna (Austria).
