Only Georgian Citizens Having Russian Visas May Depart from Azerbaijan to Russia

The State Concern of Azerbaijan AZAL doesn't observe any increase in the passenger transportation in result of the problem emerged between Georgia and Russia, First Deputy Director General of the AZAL State Concern Sabir Ilyasov told Trend.

According to him, Azerbaijan doesn't intend to increase the number of the air flights from Baku to Russia. It is justified through several reasons. Firstly they include the visa system between Georgia and Russia. Only the Georgian citizens having Russian visa may leave for Russia. One more reason is that presently the seasonal decrease in the number of the passengers is observed, Ilyasov stressed.

According to the Baku office of the Russian Air Company, no order has been received from the head office regarding re-reservation of the tickets from Tbilisi to Baku. The citizens of Georgia wishing to depart from Baku to Russia appeal to the company, but their number is insignificant. The decision regarding re-reservation may be made in the near future, the same source told.

According to the representatives of the Passenger Service of the State Railway Department of Azerbaijan, today nearly 15 Georgian citizens having Russian visas have left from Baku to Russia with trains.

The citizens of this country may also move to Ukraine or other countries where the trains of the State Railway make voyages through the territory of Russia, if they have transit visas, stated in the State Railway Department.
