Russian Science Still One of Leading Sciences in World ANAS President

Russian science still remains as one of the leading sciences in the world, the President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Mahmud Kerimov stated on 6 October at the meeting with the of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) delegation, Trend reports.

According to him, the delegation, headed by the RAS Vice President Alexander Andrei, arrived in Azerbaijan.

According to Kerimov, recently close relations have been established in all aspects between the two countries, through the support of the Presidents. He said that these good relations bode well for developing the relations between the scientific intelligentsia of the two countries. RAS has always been a leading light in defining the way to new peaks for us, Kerimov said.

According to him, Azerbaijan takes an interest in strengthening relations in exchange of scientific personnel and inventions. It is planned to sign a co-operation protocol in this respect, Kerimov emphasized.

We always prioritize the sciences in all spheres, RAS Vice President Alexander Andrei told in the meeting with the scientific community of Azerbaijan. According to him, the interaction between the communities, power and sciences in the two countries are very similar. We have similar problems that need to be resolved, the Russian Academician said. According to him, RAS is ready to enhance the co-operation with Azerbaijan in the training and exchanging personnel and jointly working on scientific projects. The ties between the scientists will assist in developing the interaction of the intellectuals of the two countries, RAS Vice President stressed.

Earlier it was planned that the Russian delegation will be led by the RAS President Yuri Osipov. But unfortunately his visit to Baku did not materialize.
