The personnel of the Fire Service of Azerbaijan comprises of heroes and patriots, the Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov briefed the media, Trend reports.
The small structure which was created 88 years ago has fully developed and is serving the public. After the establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, we have held statistical analysis, and the results are evident that amongst the emergency situations in Azerbaijan, fires have taken precedence. I cannot say that I am totally satisfied with the activities of the fire service. There are many shortfalls due to the non-conformity of the fire techniques in relation with modern demands,
Heydarov emphasized.
According to him, the economical and technical development in the country, compared to years ago, has been observed. These factors have made the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations difficult. In the past high-rise buildings were not built, but today this has been possible due to the development of the economy. Technical security needs to be guaranteed during the construction of these buildings. the Minister stressed.
Heydarov added that many contracts have been signed for Azerbaijani firemen to be trained abroad. We have signed contracts with Russia, France, Ukraine and Turkey, he stated.
