The French Parliament's adoption of the law specifying punishment for non-recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide is a great injustice towards Turkey, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Turan Morali briefed the media on October 11, Trend reports.
He noted that this action from France has caused concern in Turkey. The step taken by the French Government is very primitive. Adoption of this law by a Country such as France creates a feeling of regret, Morali emphasized.
The diplomat stressed that France's recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide will prevent Turkey's entrance into the European Union.
In addition, Morali stressed that the Turkish Government welcomes the opinion of the Azerbaijani Parliament on this issue. Yesterday (10 October), I held negotiations with the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad regarding this issue, the Ambassador stated.
The Turkish Ambassador expressed its gratitude to the Azerbaijani Government for providing support in this subject.
