Azerbaijani Scientists Have Facts about French Links with ASALA

In 1982, the French stroke an agreement with ASALA (Armenian Secret Army for Liberation of Armenia), Rovshan Mustafayev, Director of the Human Rights Institute of Azerbaijan`s National Academy of Sciences stated during the briefing organized in connection with France`s National Assembly`s adopting the law on a criminal punishment for a denial of the Armenian Genocide referring to the newspaper The Washington Post of October 28, 1986, trend reports.

Based on the revealed articles published in the papers The Washington Post, The Armenian Reporter. Le Mantine, as well on shorthand records from the sittings of US House of Representatives, the political scientist gave a number of facts that the Armenian terrorist organization has links with many countries. According to him, even in 1982, American Ex-President Ronald Reygan spoke about the necessity of coordinated struggle against ASALA in order to get rid of such a barbarian and inhuman elements from the civilized society.

According to Mr. Mustafayev, today the Azerbaijani society is interested in reasons of a great influence of some representatives of the Armenian lobby on French President Jacques Chirac, as well as in details and conditions of the agreement between the French and ASALA. The political scientist particularly underlined the French President`s close relations with one of the initiators of the adoption of the known law lawyer, Mayor of the French town of Antonia Patrice Devedjyane, who devoted the whole his life to protection of rights and interests of ASALA.

At the same time, he is a family lawyer of the French President, mentioned Mr. Mustafayev.

According to Mr. Mustafayev, in his statements, Patrice Devedjyan did not note that Armenians have a right on struggle in France, the country that can share with Armenians. The Director of the Human Rights University of the National Academy of Sciences also gave another a more interesting example. According to the paper Weekly, he pointed out, France`s Armenians believe that the surname Chirac came from the surname Shirakyan. An Armenian terrorist Arshavir Shirakyan, who committed a number of crimes in Rome even in 1928, including the murder of Turkish Prime-Minister Said Khalim Pasha, is a representative of the above-mentioned Armenian clan

France violated Article 10 of the European Human Rights Convention concerning the freedom of word and opinion. And the citizens of Azerbaijan Republic, in accordance with Article 34 of the same Convention have the right to bring a suit against France in the European Court, told Mr. Mustafayev.
