First Azeri Lady to Meet with UNESCO Director-General

The Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Member of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Mehriban Aliyeva, will meet with the UNESCO Director-General, Kiochiro Masuura, within her visit to Paris, the permanent representative of Azerbaijan in UNESCO, Eleonora Huseynova, exclusively told Trend.

According to her, Mehriban Aliyeva will inform the UNESCO Head of her activities as the Goodwill Ambassador in Azerbaijan and discuss prospects of future co-operation.

Aliyeva arrived in Paris to participate in the week of Azerbaijan in UNESCO that is held under the title Azerbaijan at the intersection of cultures and civilizations.

The week is held in line with the Jubilee of the Organization. It was decided to hold 60 thematic weeks, 58 of which are dedicated to Azerbaijan, Huseynova said.

The week began on 16 October by opening a photo-exhibition dedicated to Azerbaijan in one of the exhibition halls of UNESCO Headquarter. On 19 October at 17:00, Paris time, a gala-concert will take place with the participation of artists of Azerbaijan. The UNESCO Director-General, Kiochiro Masuura, and Goodwill Ambassador, Mehriban Aliyeva, will present a speech at the concert, the permanent representative stated.
