The meeting of the Special Committee was held in Moscow in relation with the Forum on the topic of Role of the political parties in establishment of democracy of the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Chairman of the Civil Solidarity Party, MP Sabir Rustamkhanli told Trend.
Rustamkhanli stressed that the meeting focused on the situation with the political parties in Europe, democracy, problems with democracy and the role of the parties in eliminating the problems. It became clear that the processes similar to the processes in Azerbaijan are happening in all European countries, Rustamkhanli said. In addition, the Deputy stressed that after the reports of the reporters appointed by the organization, discussions were held in three sections. In the first section, speech was delivered by Ali Ahmadov and second section Sabir Rustamkhanli. In my speech, I emphasized, that the reason for the delay of the democratic process in Europe is that Europe approaches this question from the position of double standards. Sometimes, steps are taken under the name of democracy, which have no relations with the democracy, Rustamkhanli stressed.
From Azerbaijani side, the meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Permanent Commission of Azerbaijani Parliament for International and Inter-parliamentary Relations, Head of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE Samad Seyidov, Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of ruling New Azerbaijan Party, MP Ali Hasanov, the Chairman of the Great Establishment Party, MP Sabir Rustamkhanli and the Chairman of Civil Unity Party Sabir Hajiyev.
The Forum was organized by the State Duma of Russia and PACE.
