The Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), Mazahir Panahov, stated that initial elections commissions should prove their role as professionals, Trend reports.
He noted that the inspection at the constituency commissions is directed at estimating the activities of these organisations. The first monitoring will be held in Baku and Sumgayit, and later in the regions.
Panahov stated that from January 2007, work on clarification of elections lists will be set up. The commissions should have improved in time for the presidential elections which is scheduled for 2007.
