Over Past Ten Years, Venice Commission of Council of Europe Has not Stopped Providing Support to Azerbaijan  Head of Azeri Constitutional Court

Over the past ten years, the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe has not stopped providing support to Azerbaijan in the modernization of the constitutional legislation, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev stated at the Conference Interaction between Constitutional Court and Courts of Common Justice on 9 November, Trend reports.

He stressed that conducting the events in the Constitution sphere of Azerbaijan within the co-operation with the Venice Commission has taken a traditional character. Abdullayev expressed gratitude to the Secretary of the Venice Commission Janny Bukikkio for the useful co-operation.

Bukikkio presented to the attention of the conference participants that the discussions held in the event play a great role in the modernization of the activities of the constitutional courts of the Council of Europe member-countries.

Thereafter, speeches were made by the Judge of the Hungarian Constitutional Court Andrash Vraygov on the topic Constitutional jurisdiction and common courts: what is the difference, and the Judge of Russian Constitutional Court, Gadis Hajiyev on the topic Erosion of the control model of the constitutional law of Kelsen.

The two-day conference organized jointly by Azerbaijan and Venice Commission brings together the Secretary of the Venice Commission, Janny Bukikkio, Judges of the Constitutional Courts of Russia, Hungary, Germany, Belgium, as well as the representatives of the Executive Apparat of the Azerbaijani President, Parliament, Ministry of Justice and other state bodies.
