A Signing Ceremony Human's Safety and Roots of Herbage to Be held in Japanese Embassy

A ceremony on signing of a next programme Human's Safety and Roots of Herbage is expected to be held in the Japanese Embassy to Baku on November 14, a source in the Embassy told Trend.

Eight contracts are expected to be signed during the signing ceremony. All of the projects are considered and financed by the Japanese Embassy to Azerbaijan and directed for construction of schools, reconstruction of the water supply system, as well as reinforcing measures taken to combat bird flue in Azerbaijan. Six agreements to be signed envisage providing the State veterinary laboratories in Sabirabad, Lankaran, Nakhchivan, Khanlar, Khachmaz, and Imishli regions of Azerbaijan with special equipment. The above-mentioned projects considered for reinforcing measures taken to combat bird flue are estimated at $570,450.

Project Roots of Herbage supports small-scale projects considered for improving the living conditions of Azerbaijani people and implemented by the municipalities, medical organizations, and non-governmental organizations. These projects have been introduced in Azerbaijan since 2000. Within the programme Roots of Herbage, totally 82 projects have been implemented. Their total cost has reached $5.252.718.

Up to date, within the Japanese Official Development Programme, Azerbaijan has received an aid at the amount of $717.680.
