Approaching process with Euro Atlantic organizations and institutions is becoming more rapid, Robert Simmons, Deputy Secretary General of NATO and NATO Secretary General's Special Envoy to Caucasus and Central Asia, writes in his message to Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Tahir Taghizadeh, Chief of the Press and Information Policy Department of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, told Trend that in his message, Mr. Simmons said that he considered important to use this pace of approach and keep on moving toward the ultimate aims of the NATO Partner Actions Individual Plans.
According to the NATO Deputy Secretary General, it is necessary to direct all efforts to the full use of the potential of the Plan as an instrument for adaptation to European norms and standards, as well as for applying them in the entire spectrum of security issues and improving the Government's ability to plan monitoring this process. Mr. Simmons is sure that taking into consideration that cooperation base of a different nature, which has been established, the both parties could achieve a success.
