On 26-27 November, the meeting of the experts of GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldavia) is taking place in Bakuriani City (Georgia), the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia, Namik Aliyev, exclusively informed Trend.
The Ambassador stressed that the national co-ordinators will join the meeting on 28 November, in which Azerbaijan will be represented by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Araz Azimov. The agenda of the meeting includes discussing the implementation of domestic procedures which are necessary for the validity of the Regulation of Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM and forming of the secretariat agreed through the proposals of the member-countries.
It is planned during the meeting to agree upon the following documents: agreement on liberties and immunities, 2007-2008 budget, procedures of agreeing the joint declarations of GUAM, regulation on co-ordinator country of branch working group GUAM, procedure rules, regulations on the Secretariat as well as financial regulations. In addition, it is planned to agree upon the Memorandum on co-operation and assistance in nuclear and radiation security amongst the GUAM member-states, consideration of financial activities of the GUAM Information Center in Kiev; consideration of joint activities within the 42nd item of the Agenda of the 61st session of the U.N. General Assembly Frozen conflicts in GUAM territory and their impact on the international peace, security and development.
Concrete proposals will be nominated regarding the creation of peace-making divisions and civil police of GUAM countries; project of statement of GUAM regarding frozen conflicts in GUAM territory for its presentation to the Chairman at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE (4-5 December in Brussels); discussion of the organizational issues at the meeting of the Council of GUAM Foreign Ministers which will be held within the meeting of the Council of the OSCE Foreign Ministers and GUAM-USA meeting.
The meeting of the GUAM experts and national co-ordinators will conclude on 30 November.
