Border Delimitation Experts Agree upon Unco-ordinated Sections of Azerbaijan's Border with Russia & Georgia

Garib Mammadov, the Chair of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Lands and Cartography, exclusively informed Trend that experts on delimitation and demarcation of borders of Azerbaijan with Russia and Georgia have agreed upon the unco-ordinated sections.

He noted that the issue should be resolved by commissions. The next meeting of the Commission on Border Delimitation and Demarcation between Azerbaijan and Georgia will be held between March 5th and 6th, while the delimitation and demarcation of the state border will be discussed in Baku between March 27th and 28th.

There are three unco-ordinated sections in the border with Russia. One of them is the place called Stik, where the state border of Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia are connected in Balakan District, northwest Azerbaijan. The second is Su Govshagi and a wooded section in Khachmaz District, north Azerbaijan. So far, around 85% of the Azerbaijani border with Russia has been co-ordinated.
