Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Chairman of Azerbaijan Central Election Commission (CEC), Mazahir Panahov, said that if Azerbaijan receives an invitation to participate in the observation of the elections in Armenia within the observation mission of the CIS and international organizations, the CEC will refuse it.
The CIS Executive Committee has created an observation mission to observe the elections in Armenia scheduled for 12 May.

"Despite that the CEC is not a political organization, we do not interfere in the internal and foreign policy. We are citizens of Azerbaijan and follow the political course and interests of the State. Therefore, we have never observed the elections in Armenia," Panahov said, adding that the international organization know the position of the CEC on this issue and therefore, have not sent any invitation.
