Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr S. Ilhamghizi / Javad Derehti, the Chairman of the World Congress of Azerbaijanis (WCA), reported that he greatly appreciates that the Ist Forum of Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas in Baku initiated by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was finally held.
"While visiting Turkey, Ilham Aliyev suggested that in the first half of next year the Ist Forum of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas should be held in Baku. He has kept his word and held the Forum within that time. The fact that the President fulfiled his promise has inspired me and I am going to work at my highest capacity in the future," Derehti noted.
The Chairman added that the Forum was a form of introduction as the Turks from Turkey, South Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus, Kirkuk and Azerbaijani diasporas from all over the world got to know one another. "The important strategy will be discussed at the forthcoming conference of the WCA. A large number of its representatives from the diasporas will be invited," Derehti said.
Concerning the activity of the WCA, Derehti insisted that there is neither discrimination nor dissidence within the organization. "Some of our friends failed to read the message we sent on the internet," he noted.
