Chief of Azerbaijani Parliament Administration Says Discussions over  Proposals Put forward by Venice Committee Concluded by September, 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. E. Husseynli/ Safa Mirzoyev, the Chief of the Administration of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan's Parliament), has said that discussions over the last proposals due to amendments to be moved to the Election Code of the country, are expected to be concluded by September, 2007.

According to him, there are points in the proposals put forward by the Venice Committee, which Azerbaijan considers acceptable.

Mr. Mirzoyev said that discussions were currently being held on this issue, and as soon as the both parties could come to mutual consent, these proposals would be submitted to the publicity.

He noted that there is formation of election commissions (constituencies) on the basis of equity among the proposals put forward by the Venice Committee.
