Regions of Caspian, Black and  Baltic  Seas are Transforming into a Unified Region:   Azerbaijan President

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Agayeva / "The energy security is one of the key issues for Europe and Azerbaijan possesses large potentials in the energy sector and may make a significant contribution to the regional co-operation," said the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at the press-conference as a result of the energy summit which took place in the Polish city of Krakow and was attended by the State Heads of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia, Poland, Lithuanian, as well as Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan.

The State Head stressed that Azerbaijan has new oil and gas fields and pipelines to export hydrocarbons. He underlined that presently Azerbaijan exports its natural resources to the European and world markets via various routes. "Concrete work should be carried out with regards to the energy co-operation," the President said. Aliyev underlined that the regions of Caspian, Black and Baltic Seas are transforming into a unified region.

Initiated by the President of Poland, Lekh Kachinsky, the summit passed a communique reflecting issues of developing transport infrastructure, exportation of oil and gas to the European and world markets, co-operation of countries of Caspian, Black and Baltic regions, integration into Europe. The issues specified in the joint communique will provide an opportunity to the countries represented at the summit to realize concrete projects.
