Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I. Alizadeh / MP Hadi Rajabli, the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on social policy of Azerbaijan, said on 15 May that some restrictions should be applied to the allowances of internally restricted persons.
"Not all those who have the status of displaced persons or refugees are poor. I believe allowances should be targeted in connection to this as well. Corresponding organizations should hold a monitoring on this occasion," the chairman added.
According to Rajabli, changes in payment of allowances will enable poor families to receive social aid. "Formerly in order to receive social aid one had to submit 17 documents, now there are only five. The move is a progressive one. The process is new to Azerbaijan and difficulties in connection to this are natural," the MP added.
An internally displaced person in Azerbaijan receives AZN 9 a month. The number of the recipients exceeds 800.
