Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend P.Amirjanov / On 1 June, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, congratulated Valdis Zatlers, the elected President of the Republic of Latvia. The President expressed pleasure with the current state of bilateral relations, expressing confidence for further cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia both on bilateral and international levels. The President of Azerbaijan wished his Latvian counterpart robust health and success in his activities.
In addition, Aliyev sent congratulatory messages to Italian President, Giorgio Napolitan and Prime Minister, Romano Prody, on their National Holiday - Republic Day. The President stressed that the Azerbaijani-Italian relations are developing successfully.
