Agreement on Disputable Territories in Azerbaijani-Russian Border Reached

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / The agreement on the disputable of territories in the Azerbaijani-Russia border has been reached, the chairman of the State Committee on Land and Cartography, Garib Mammadov , reported in Baku on the 13th of June.

According to Mammadov , the State Commission on the Determination of Azerbaijani-Russian Borders proceeds with its work. He noted that three areas have not been agreed upon yet, which are Stikh area in Azerbaijani Balakan region, Forest Resources, and Waterworks Facility in Azerbaijani Khachmaz region.

"Azerbaijani and Russian experts have carried out the work on the co-ordination of the territories and an agreement was reached. A meeting of the Inter-Governmental Commission will be held in the Dagestan Republic of the Russian Federation on the 27th to the 29th of June and the issue will be resolved," Mammadov reported.

The next meeting of the Inter-Governmental Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of Azerbaijani-Georgian Borders will be held in Tbilisi, the chairman said. Mammadov noted that the experts of the State Committee jointly with Georgia had examined the disputable territories. "The next meeting is planned to be held in Tbilisi. We are awaiting an invitation from Georgia," he added.
