Gas Pipeline via Caspian Sea – Kazakhstan, Ukraine and onwards to Europe would Meet Feasibility Studies: Ukrainian President (video)

Ukraine, Kiev / special corr Trend E.Huseynov /Ukrainian President Victor Yuschenko stated that there is rivalry in further development of new or old versions of gas supplies from the Central Asia to the international markets. The Trans-Caspian and Caspian gas pipelines target only the delivery of gas from the field. The Ukrainian President made this statement in an interview for Trend and several Azerbaijani television channels.

Ukraine has announced its interests as a country which could supply necessary materials and gas transportation equipment in any version. Nevertheless, we believe that from the aspect of prospects for the Central Asia the gas pipeline running via the Caspian Sea - Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and onwards to Europe would meet more the feasibility studies and the security and economic traditions, which has been already developed.

This is the shortest route to Europe, unless there are political objectives. "Obviously, Ukraine would like to take a maximum participation in this project," the President emphasized
