Azerbaijani Vice-Speaker: No Need for Supplementary Bill Providing for Functioning of Opposition Parties

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Bahar Muradova, the member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) and Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament), stated that there was no necessity in adoption of a supplementary bill providing for functioning of opposition parties.

"Issues regarding functioning of opposition and political parties are reflected in another corresponding bill. The members of the Musavat deputy group can offer proposals using their rights of MP if there is a necessity to moderate the bill in effect," Muradova added.

Muradova considers that the Azerbaijani Government has established equal rights for everybody to go in for political activities.

The members of the Musavat deputy group informed that the Azerbaijani Parliament should adopt a bill providing for functioning of opposition. The bill must reflect such issues as financing of opposition parties from the public budget and other issues.
