Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / Araz Alizadeh, the Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (SDPA), stated that the reasons for postponing the visit of Luis Ayala, the Secretary General of the Socialist International, is because of the SDPA's expected visit to Geneva.

The Secretary General of the Socialist International was to come to Baku on 25 June and hold a range of meetings and press-conferences. The visit was postponed until July.

Alizadeh noted that the international 'Unsolved Conflicts in the World' conference will be held in Geneva on 29 June.

After the meeting in Geneva, Ayala will visit Baku to meet with the Chairman of the SDPA.

"The visit of Ayala to Baku was postponed due to our planned visit to Geneva for participating in the conference," Alizadeh said.

SDPA is an opposition party and Ayaz Mutallibov, the former President of Azerbaijan, is the head of the party. The SDPA is represented in the Socialist International.
