Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Badalova / Community policing, crime prevention, and police techniques will be in focus on 30 June as police in the rural municipality of Mingechevir welcome the public during Azerbaijan's first Police Open Day, the OSCE's official web-site informs.
The Head of the OSCE Office in Baku, Ambassador Jose-Luis Herrero, and Deputy Interior Minister Oruj Zalov will open the event, which features demonstrations by dog handlers, rapid reaction teams, and other special police forces. The day will close with an open-air concert.
The event, jointly organized and funded by the OSCE Office in Baku and the Interior Ministry, is part of the OSCE Office's police assistance programme, which aims to improve the professionalism of the country's police service.
