Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr.E.Huseynli / Ehsan Zahidov, the spokesman of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry, stated on 7 July that examinations are held at the Baku Central Police Department and in other departments of the Interior Ministry in compliance with the plan.
Zahidov noted that the check-ups have nothing common with the latest staff changes held at offices of the Central Police Department.
Maharram Aliyev, the chief of the Central Police Department, was dismissed at his own will at the end of 2006. The position is still vacant. Ramil Usubov, the Azerbaijani Interior Minister, noted on 2 July that the new chief of the Baku Central Police Department will be appointed in near future.
