E.Huseynli / The new stage of discussions on establishment the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries will be commenced in September, as well as the consultation of the heads of friendly groups of parliaments of Turkic countries is planning to hold in Baku by the end of 2007, Nizami Jafarov, the head of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Inter parliamentary Friendly Group, stated to the Trend Agency on 23 August.
"Officials of Turkic-speaking countries agreed to implement concrete work on establishment the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries," Jafarov said.
Representatives of Turkish, Azerbaijani, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan parliaments will be the members of the PA of Turkic-speaking countries. The regional organization is formed to expand relations among Turkish countries, to form general language, single alphabet, to simplify passing regime of borders, to create Turkish space and to prevent interference into internal affairs of Turkic-speaking countries.
The Azerbaijani Parliament is the main initiator regarding establishment of PA of Turkic-speaking countries. The Parliamentarians have been discussing the issue for two years.
