Turkish Parliament Cannot Elect President Once More

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Results of the second tour of the presidential elections held in the Turkish Parliament, was announced.

The candidate from Fair and Development Party and acting Foreign Minister, Abdulla Gul, lost 4 votes from 341 votes collected during the latest tour. Only 337 MPs voted for Abdulla Gul.

Seventy-one MPs voted for the candidate from Milliyetci Herekat Partisi, Sabahaddin Chakmagoglu.

Fourteen MPs voted for the candidate from Demokratik Sol Partisi, Huseyn Tayfun.

Twenty-four MPs voted against all candidates.

The third tour of the elections was scheduled for 28 August.
