Azerbaijan to Open Embassy in Croatia by End of 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend S. Aghayeva, K. Ramazanova / The Azerbaijani Embassy in Zagreb ( Croatia) will be opened by the end of this year. This statement was confirmed at the meeting between Azerbaijani and Croatian Foreign Ministers, Elmar Mammadyarov andKolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, in Zagreb on 5 September, Croatian Hina news agency quotes.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister's official visit to Croatia. The foreign ministers discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional relationships. Mammadyarov is scheduled to meet with the Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, the head of the Foreign Economic Chamber, and the Minister of Economy, Cooperation, and Entrepreneurship. The meetings will cover bilateral issues, cooperation of international organizations, and international situations, the spokesman for Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, Khazar Ibrahim, told Trend.

Mammadyarov will also discuss issues regarding the upcoming official visit of the Croatian President to Azerbaijan.

The Croatian President Stjepan Mesic will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan at the beginning of October, the Croatian Embassy in Azerbaijan which is a resident in Ankara reported on 4 September.
