Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr E. Huseynli / A new TV channel is planned to be broadcast through Azerbaijan's national frequency. In this connection the National Council for Television and Radio will announce a tender in the near future.
The tender will be announced for the frequency of either ORT (Russian TV) or Kanal D (Turkish TV). There are 7 TV channels broadcast all over the countries and 14 regional TV channels.
On 14 September, Khazar TV won the tender for the frequency of Samanyolu (STV). The new channel will begin broadcasting within the first ten days of December.
Reports of the soon-to-open new TV channel were confirmed by the Chairman of the Council, Nushiravan Maharramli.
