(showbizspy.com) - Britney Spears' former bodyguard, Tony Barretto has claimed in an interview with British newspaper The News of the World, that his former employer nearly suffered a drug overdose - after her brief visit to rehab earlier in the year.
He told the paper: "She has mental problems, and they are not helped by her taking drugs and alcohol"
Barretto claimed that Spears suffered a drug overdose in a hotel room with singer Howie Day just days after leaving Promises Treatment Center earlier this year: "She was in a terrible state, just sweating and shaking. Her pupils were huge- we thought she was dying,"The interview continued: "Before I even started working for her, I was warned about her stripping, I must have seen her naked dozens of times and each time I've been extremely embarrassed. She strips off anywhere - at home, recording studios and clubs."
"Her children need attention, and Britney doesn't appear to be willing to give them that at the moment," he says. "She can't cope with being a mother, as she has such a low boredom threshold."
