Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend E.Huseynli / More than 100 prohibited religious books were confiscated in Azerbaijan this year, a source reported to Trend in the State Committee of the Religion-Related Issues Organizations of Azerbaijan.
The books contain religious propaganda, including Islamic and Christian religions, contradicting the active legislation.
The religious books brought to Azerbaijan are kept in the customs checkpoints and sent for examination to the State Committee of the Religion-Related Issues Organization and the Committee decides if the book is allowed to be imported to Azerbaijan.
More than 400 religious organizations are active in Azerbaijan.
