Council of  Europe Refuses Azerbaijani Candidate in   European Court on Human Rights

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Agayeva / On 1 October the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) made a decision to refuse the candidates from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, San-Marino and Turkey to the European Court on Human Rights.

Elections are planed to take place on 2 October in the European Court on Human Rights. The candidates from Azerbaijan were the current judge in the European Court on Human Rights, Khanlar Hajiyev, judge of Azerbaijan's Supreme Court, Zakir Guliyev and representative of Azerbaijan President's Executive Apparat, Saadat Novruzova.

The candidates were refused due to their unconformity with the PACE criteria. The countries were recommended preparing new candidates for the European Court on Human Rights.
