Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Ramazanova / US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Anne E. Derse said on 4 October in Baku at a presentation of the book entitled 'Life of Muslims in the USA' that the opinion that the USA acts against Islam and compares the Muslim religion with terrorism is absurd.
"The USA considers Islam as a religion of peace and does not act against it," she said.
According to the Ambassador, foreigners have little knowledge about the life of Muslims in the USA. Some 1,200 mosques operate in the USA and Muslims have their communities and schools in the USA.
The book 'Life of Muslims in the USA' has been prepared by experts commissioned by the US Department of State. The book speaks of common religious values.
