Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr Z. Safarov / The President of FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), Joseph Blatter, and the President of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), Michel Platini, will start their official visit to Baku on 16 October.
According to AFFA (Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan), the main purpose of the visit is to participate in the opening ceremony of FIFA's new headquarters, given the fact that the building was constructed with funds from the International Federation and the European Football Union. Blatter and Platini will also attend the selection match of the 2008 European cup between Azerbaijan and Serbia to be played at the Teymur Bahramov stadium on 17 October.
Several years ago representatives of world football visited Baku and attended the opening of Shafa stadium.
