Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Russia Investigates Probability of Existence of the Azerbaijanis Trapped in   Collapsed  Building in   Kazan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 January /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / Azerbaijan's Embassy in Russia is investigating the probability of Azerbaijanis trapped under ruins of a building that collapsed in Kazan on 9 January.

"We have not received information yet confirming the existence of Azerbaijanis amongst the victims of the collapsed building," a source at the Embassy in Moscow reported by telephone on 9 January.

On the night of 8 January there was a domestic gas explosion in a building in Kazan and as a result, nearly 12-15 people were injured, Gazeta ru reports with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Tatarstan.

Yet it is impossible to be sure that there are no Azerbaijanis under the collapsed building. The exact information will be available by the end of the day, the same source stated.

Nearly 10,000 Azerbaijanis reside in Tatarstan.

The rescuers removed the dead body of a woman aged 50-55 years and three people still alive, including two women under aged 33 and 55 years, Gazeta ru reports.
