( dpa ) - Anchor Kati Wilhelm made up a huge deficit on Norway on Wednesday as Germany remained unbeaten in women's biathlon World Cup relay races this season.

Kathrin Hitzer, Magdalena Neuner, Sandra Buchholz and Wihelm clocked 1 hour 17 minutes 56.0 seconds over the 4x6-kilometres distance for the fourth German win in as many relay races.

Norway led by 51.4 seconds at the final exchange after the three- time world champion Neuner had two penalty loops and Hitzer one. But Wilhelm was flawless in the shooting range while Norwegian anchor Ann Kristin Flatland had to reload five times.

The Norwegians trailed by 24.3 in the end and Olympic champions Russia came third, 1:15.9 minutes off the pace.

The Ruhpolding events continue Thursday with a men's relay over 4x7.5km.
