Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 February / Trend / The Azerbaijani Ombudswoman Elmira Suleymanova received Andres Herkel and Yevgeniya Zhivkova, co-rapporteurs, of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Ombudswoman's Administration said to Trend on 5 February.
The guests expressed their concern about a range of problems persisting in Azerbaijan, including media rights and the arrest of journalists. Suleymanova said that the protection of the rights of the media including protection against violence, along with other basic rights are controlled by the Ombudswoman's Administration. She answered the co-rapporteurs' questions about the political prisoners in Azerbaijan, the civil society, and cooperation with NGOs.
