Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 February / Trend corr. N.Fatullayeva / The level of maternity and prenatal death increased in Kazakh region of Azerbaijan compared to previous years, Arzu Novruzov, the doctor of Central Hospital, stated to Trend.
In 2006, the deaths of two newborns were registered and the number of stillborns totalled 14. No death was recorded amongst the women.
According to Novruzov, there were registered deaths of two mothers and six newborns, as well as 17 stillborns in the region in 2007.
Novruzov connected the frequent deaths with lack of necessary equipment and conditions in hospitals.
The four doctors were reprimanded and two were dismissed as a result of the tragic outcome in 2007
